SkyGuard services from AccuWeather For Business, Inc. (“AFB”) provide warnings and notifications about potential weather events threatening specific locations.
Your employer has subscribed you to receive SkyGuard services from AFB by signing a written agreement with AFB. If you are viewing these terms, you have either been designated by your employer as an authorized recipient of such SkyGuard services or you have been designated by your employer to administer and/or create Portal accounts for other employees of your organization so that they can receive SkyGuard services.
SkyGuard services may be delivered by AFB via telephone, SMS message (via the AFB SkyGuard Notifications short code 44746 for the United States and 222899 for Canada) and/or other means as made generally available by AFB from time to time and pursuant to the agreement between AFB and your employer. If you wish to receive AFB SkyGuard Notifications via SMS messaging, you will need to (1) set your preferences in the AFB Web Portal to request delivery of SkyGuard services via SMS messaging once your Portal account is set up, and (2) opt-in to receive the services in that manner. To set your preferences to receive SkyGuard services via SMS messaging, your mobile telephone number will need to entered in the SMS contact information section of the Settings page. This may be accomplished by you if you have been granted access to the AFB Web Portal. If you have not been granted AFB Web Portal access, your preferences will be set by another employee of your organization who has been designated by your employer to perform this task or, if requested by your employer, by AFB. Once your preferences have been set, you will still need to opt-in to receive SkyGuard services in that manner by following the opt-in instructions sent to you via SMS message after your mobile telephone number is entered. Note that once your preferences have been set, they may be changed at any time through the Settings page in the AFB Web Portal if you wish to stop receiving services via SMS. Also note that message delivery by SMS is not guaranteed and standard message and data rates may apply.

Once you and/or other employees of your organization have opted in to receive SkyGuard services via SMS, you and/or they can get help by texting “HELP”, “INFO”, or “AIDE” at any time to short code 44746 (US) or 222899 (Canada) or by contacting support via the email and telephone number above. You and/or they may also opt out of receiving services via SMS at any time by replying “STOP” or “ARRET” to short code 44746 (US) or 222899 (Canada). Once an individual has replied with STOP to opt-out of the SMS service, their SMS telephone number will need to be re-enrolled in the Portal if they wish to begin receiving SkyGuard services via SMS again. Re-enrolling requires deleting the SMS contact information from the user account and then adding the SMS phone number to the user account.
Selecting SMS messaging as a delivery method will not cause you to incur any fee obligations to AFB. Any fees payable to AFB shall be the responsibility of your employer. However, standard message and data rates may apply, as noted above.
Once you have opted in to receive SkyGuard services via SMS message, delivery in that manner will continue until: (a) your preferences are changed so that SMS is no longer selected as a delivery method; (b) you opt-out of receiving SMS messages by replying “STOP” or “ARRET” to short code 44746 (US) or 222899 (Canada); (c) your employer cancels your Portal account or notifies AFB that you are no longer authorized to receive SkyGuard services; or (d) your employer’s agreement with AFB for SkyGuard service ends, whichever comes first.
For clarification purposes, the terms and conditions governing your employer’s subscription to, and AFB’s delivery of, SkyGuard service (e.g., subscription term, fees, billing frequency, etc.) shall be as specified in the written agreement signed by your employer and AFB, and nothing herein shall be construed to modify or supersede the terms and conditions set forth in such agreement. In the event of any conflict between the terms and conditions set forth herein and the terms and conditions set forth in the written agreement between your employer and AFB, the terms and conditions set forth in the written agreement between your employer and AFB will take precedence and prevail.
